French Manicure | Tutorials

Hola!

French manicures are a simple, classic nail design that I thought I'd show you a quick tutorial for. I got this tutorial from the Vogue Make Up book a while back and I'm going to share it with you.

1. File and buff your nails before applying a thin base coat, which will help the polish to last longer.

2. Apply a thin white tip on the edge of each nail. Doing it in this order means that you can neaten up any wobbly edges with a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover without taking off any pink.

3. When the tips are completely dry, apply a couple of coats of pale pink nail polish over the top. Too many coats will cover over the white tip and will actually lead to your nail polish chipping sooner.

4. Finish with a clear top coat to seal the colour in and leave them to dry for as long as you can bare to sit still!

Please let me know if you liked this little tutorial as it's not something I've done before on my blog. I actually love doing my nails a lot, so nail art tutorials is something I would love to feature more often, if you'd like me to! (Also I would add in pictures for more complicated tutorials!)

February | Monthly Top 5

Hola!

It's time again for another favourites post. There are a lot of good products, so ordering them was seriously tricky, so don't rate them purely based on that because they're all equal for me!

You might have noticed that there are only four products in the first picture, and that the picture of this product is a stock photo, and that's because I didn't have the common sense to take a picture of this bath bomb before I used it (although I did video putting it into the bath). Anyway, I've now taken pictures of the other bits that came with this in the Sugar Sugar gift set because I'm going to do a full review of that gift box (I'll post the video with that), which I got for Christmas, so I'm not going to go into too much detail now. I used this on valentines day as it's pink, and it turned out to be even more appropriate as it left little heart confetti on the bottom of the bath. I think it was meant to float on the surface judging by the clip on the Lush website (linked in the title of the product as always). But anyway, it smelt amazing and turned my bath pink, plus it did make my skin kinda soft too. All in all I really liked it.

I have to admit that I bought this mascara mainly because of the colour of the packaging,  ok? But I'm glad I did! The wand itself is HUGE, it's one of the plastic ones which I prefer because I think they separate the lashes better, which this mascara really does. It gives masses of length and volume without making my lashes too clumpy. It could hold a curl a little better,  but I guess that's to be expected with a non waterproof formula. It is a little on the expensive side for drugstore at £11, but completely worth it in my opinion!

I first saw this product in Zoe's (Zoella on YouTube) back to school makeup, but it wasn't until Nick from Pixiwoo recommended it recently that I thought I should give it a go, because when Pixiwoo recommend something from the drugstore, you know it's got to be good! And it is! It's really creamy and quick to reply, easy to blend and nd the best bit by far is how long lasting it is! I really had to scrub with a waterproof eye makeup remover to get the swatch off my hand, and even then there were still traces left that just wouldn't budge. Plus it's a massive bargain at £3.19. I can't fault it!

I was actually given this nail polish for my birthday by a friend who has no interest or knowledge of beauty, but knows I do, and she could't have picked a better polish! Max Factor isn't a brand I usually got to for nail polishes, but now I really would. This colour is SO me, its a gorgeous, shimmery, deep purple that shines different blue and pink tones in the light, it's beautiful! Plus it lasts for so long, I've had it on my toe nails for nearly a month now, and it has barely chipped. (FYI the stock photo on the Superdrug website is awful, it looks nothing like that in real life) I love it!

I love Tanya and I love her cosmetic range, I have this and two of her lip glosses, and I love them all. Recently I've been really into pale, mint sort of duck egg blues, so this is a really lovely colour, and the name is adorable. The nail polish itself is really good too, I had it on my fingernails for the whole of half term (1 week) and it didn't chip at all. I did a little gold accent nail over the top of my ring finger, which I think looks pretty (below). I'm thinking of doing a little nail art type series thing maybe some time, maybe in the future when I have more time to paint my nails, so let me know what you guys think about that.

Just to add, I uploaded a new video on my YouTube channel earlier, so I would love you if you went and gave it a watch, thanks! ;);)
